well, I got that wicked sensationthat's crawlin' in my veins mella
Mella had nothing to do. The sun bore down on her moderately thick, shaggy coat as her paws took her along the street. The tarmac just made it worse as it scorched the pads on her paws and absorbed the heat from the sun. Lolling out her tongue, she continued to walk, trying to keep in the shade of the buildings, however it was midday. Midday meant the shadows were smallest. She groaned in exhaustion and sat down momentarily to get her energy back. There was nowhere to go, but Mella didn't want to sit around for too long. She was bored and was interested in finding someone or something. The heat made her vision go slightly blurry and the colours that flickered through the air were faded. She sighed. Not only that, but the heat also clogged up her nostrils and made it harder to breathe. Sometimes she hated this odd 'gift' that she'd been given.
Mella decided that she was done sitting around. There were better things to do than that! On her paws again, Mella began to walk. The streets were void of any life. Every once in a while she'd see a cat speed across into a neighbouring alley, and the sound of knocking over bins would be heard. Cats were scum. They were annoying and irritating and their scents were a dark, dull brown.
Finally arriving at a small park, Mella jumped over the metal fence. The feel of the cool grass against her paws made her groan, and immediately her vision cleared a little. Walking along the grass, she went over to the round-a-bout that was situated in the middle of the park. She moved it a little with her paw so that it would begin spinning, before getting on. Her vision blurred once again as she continued to spin, and the breeze ruffled through her coat as Mella closed her eyes and enjoyed the ride.

The creaking of the rusty metal against metal was rhythmic in Mella's ears as she went 'round and 'round. These toy contraptions that humans used probably hadn't been used in many, many years. Dogs had no use for them, so they were left untouched. Mella could see why they were so popular back when humans were around, but it was difficult to keep the round-a-bout spinning with just her. It was also half falling apart, and the crusted and cracked metal dug into her paws. The creaking eventually stopped and she was plunged into silence. All she could hear was the gentle crowing of birds in the sky far, far in the distance. But then there was a voice. Mella would've noticed the scent had she had her eyes open, but she wasn't expecting it, so as Mella flew her eyes open, she toppled over - slightly from dizziness.
"Oh." She murmured and she tried to regain her grip and compose herself. Looking over at the dog that had spoken, Mella blinked a few times. There was a flickering ribbon of light in the air - her scent. She blinked another few times, before she managed to open her mouth to speak. "Sorry, I hadn't noticed you there. Of course you can stay." A lopsided grin appeared on Mella's face, and she immediately jumped off the round-a-bout to approach the female a bit more. She seemed friendly enough, at least.
Cocking her brown and white head, she made sure that she was careful. Mella may only just be an adult, but she was always careful. For all she could know, this female might want to get her close just to lash out. Finally stopping a little way away from the female, Mella lowered herself onto her haunches, and tasted some grit in her mouth. Everything Mella touched would bring a taste onto her tongue, but it would be unusual that it would be an unpleasant taste. Usually it just made her feel at home. Clapping her lips together, Mella decided to speak again. "What's your name?"

Chelmno was finally here. It had taken months to go from one coast to the other; but he had finally done it. Over the weeks that he had been traveling his long thick winter coat that had stayed in place over the spring had finally been shed, revealing a much sleeker version of the obsidian brute. At this point in his journey as he walked among his first glance of what the old humans had called New York City, his mouth was ajar as he panted freely, allowing his body to regulate a bit. His black fur soaked up the sun's summer rays, and while it was definitely warm outside, Chelmno couldn't help but to feel relief. Since he had traveled from a more Southern region he had grown accustomed to a higher level of sweltering heat, which made this current temperature only slightly uncomfortable. If only he wasn't so tired!
Chelmno slowly padded to a halt as two unfamiliar scents drifted towards him on a soft breeze, along with the sound of two female voices. Ears pricked, a soft pang of loneliness attacked him as he realized he did not recognize either their scent or voice. They weren't even wolves...but at least they could be company.
He slowly headed towards the two strangers; picking up a reluctant walk and ignoring his body as his joints screamed at him, begging for a much needed rest after his journey. After a few moments had passed a green area of grass that was filled with foreign objects came into his field of vision. He shook his head in disgust: humans never did understand the meaning of nature. No wonder they were all long gone...a myth to his species. But then he realized the two dogs that had caught his attention were among the foreign human objects; he was going to have to tolerate the pointless shapes of rock and metal if he wanted to interact with other canines again. Sighing loudly, he walked to where the green began, deciding to take a seat at the entrance. While both could easily be a meal for him, Chelmno was tired of killing, wanting nothing to do with the old self that he was back on the other side of the country.
No, all he wanted was a conversation, if they would have it.
Patiently waiting, his olive gaze studied the two females until they noticed his presence, at which point he uttered his short greeting. "Hello."

Shade trudged onward. Her limbs were sore and aching, but she felt like she had to keep moving. Shade was searching and had been for a while. her tail and head were low and her ice blue orbs concentrated ahead of her. She had no idea where she was now, she just moved, if she turned, she turned, most of the time she would just walk strait, she couldn't seem to sit still anymore despite her weariness. Shade hadn't had any sleep the last four days and she hadn't eaten in almost a week. There wasn't a lot of game out in the city...just trash cans...
Shade was an Ebony wolf with piercing ice blue eyes, her past didn't originate in New York either, she was practically forced to come to this wretched human place by Chelmno while he got to have all the fun killing mutts and mongrels. Shade though, didnt care about dogs anymore, she still hated them but she wasn't going to waste her strength killing them... though she would still pick on them, it was amusing. Shade was a sadistic wolf, ones misery was her amusement, unless it was a close friend; which she lacked, or a lover; which was probably dead, she still had a soft side to her, which was rarely seen amongst her looks. Shade was apathetic right now, she was showing no emotion, yet she felt it, she did not show it.
She soon picked up scents, two dogs and a wolf. Shade immediately concealed herself in the shadows down wind. One was a small dog, Shade's lip twitched, the mutt seemed nice, but shade still disliked the dogs. one that caught her attention was the male wolf. He was obsidian, Shade heart skipped and she stayed in the shadow going around to see his face. His eyes were olive green and he looked tired, could it be...?
Shade Slowly showed herself and walked over, She looked at the dog ".....Hi." Was all she said, her voice was quiet as she spoke to the small dog and she approached the wolf...Chelmno and planted herself in front of him "So tell me. Am I dreaming, are you real? Or am i delirious and imagining this?" She murmured tilting her head, She felt her cold heart warm, she looked back at the small dog...Shade was going to have to improve her attitude if she was going to survive here... She sighed and looked at the dog "...My name is Shade...You are..?" She asked quietly her voice was quiet still and maybe a little cold, but she was trying her best to be kind. She didnt like it so far. She sat there and waited for Either Chelmno to reply or the little dog.
