&&CHARACTERS PERSONALITY:
Pace knows live is hard, he learned that early in his life. He knows a lot of canines are willing to do whatever it takes to survive. Therefore he plays his cards the best he has learned. He might not be the smartest or most sly fox in town, but he isn’t stupid, and he will do anything to survive. He has a personality full of bitterness, sarcasm and willpower. Instead of physically strength, he is strong of mind and stubborn. He doesn’t submit to be looked down upon because he is a fox - which is why he isn’t as strong as a lot of other canines - and he isn’t easy to manipulate with. He has got a lot of self-control and isn’t someone who just freaks out whenever he is in danger. He only freaks out when the light of hope is as good as out. He also has a tendency to examine different things because of his curiosity, even if he knows it might be dangerous. His self-control also makes him look calmer than he actually is in pressed situations. And even in a pressed situation, Pace has a tendency to be bolder than good is for one of his size. But he has neither anything to lose nor anyone to protect. Deep inside, in his locked heart, he wishes he had, but he is afraid to lose beloved persons in his life. It has happened to him before. Therefore he will probably be very protective of those he comes to befriend. Love and friendships are something he thinks as the hardest things to handle. But trouble, danger or difficult situations of different sorts – he wants to overcome them, and stay alive.
&&CHARACTERS SEX: Male
&&CHARACTERS HISTORY:
Foxes aren’t as strong as a lot of other canines. Pace learned that lesson some years ago, and he certainly has not forgotten.
Pace was born a few miles from the borders of Chicago in a lone fox den. He was the only male in a litter of four kits, and he lived in the wood with his parents and three sisters. In the beginning, Pace was his father’s favourite – his father was one of the strongest foxes in the wood. He was a strong and brave warrior who could protect his family against malicious enemies to the newborn family. He believed his son would be just as strong a fox as himself. But it soon became plain. Pace wasn’t the strongest of the litter. Two of his sisters were stronger than him. It was plain, that he would never be as strong as his father was. And that was a great disappointment to his father. Now, he would always tell Pace to be more like his stronger sisters. To do as they did. To fight as they fought. Pace did his best, but even his best wasn’t good enough. He wasn’t as strong as his sisters. He wasn’t a warrior as his father. He would never be. And in his father’s eyes he simply wasn’t good enough. But Pace idolized his father, and he wanted his father to be proud of him.
When Pace and his sisters were almost 4 months old, three wolves found the fox den. They were hungry, starving. And they wanted to feast upon the vixen and her helpless kits. Too late, his mother sensed the danger. Pace was the only one who reached the fox den. His three sisters were slaughtered by the wolves, and his mother became badly injured when she desperately tried to save them. He stood in the entrance to the den. Frozen. It was a terrible sight. Suddenly one of the wolves leaped at him, but his mother saved him. She buried her fangs into the wolf’s neck, and he was free. She had rescued him, and died short after when the wolves overpowered her. He fled into the long tunnels his mother had made in the den, and he soon came out of another entrance. He was safe.
His father had been out hunting, but when he had heard the terrible snarling of wolves he had rushed back to the den. But too late. The wolves were gone, and he soon found his son, hiding at the other entrance. He was the only one who survived the wolves’ attack. His father now feared for his only kits life, and Pace was now raised by his father, who soon found Paces strengths. Pace was almost as agile and lithe as a cat, and he was good to sneak up on others and camouflage in the shadows – and he became the perfect hunter. His father apologized to Pace because of his former behaviour toward him. He was finally proud of his son, just as Pace wanted him to be. The bond between them became strong, and his father taught him everything he knew – also fighting. He taught Pace fast and precisely, often fearing to lose the son he was so proud of. But in the end, it was him who died. A big pack of jackals attacked him and Pace, when Pace was 11 months old. It was terrible. Pace tried to help his father but it was hopeless. He told Pace to run, and while Pace was forced to fled, his father stayed back to give him time to run. In the end his father died to protect him, just as his mother had done. They died to save one they loved.
Pace left the wood, and he now lives in Chicago. He lives in a big old church but he often strolls around in the city. The church is a place where he is safe from big canines because the doors of the church are closed - and the only ones, who can enter through the small hole in the wooden doors, are small canines like himself. He now calls himself “Hunter”.
&&CHARACTERS RELATIONS: His father, because they became very close to each other when the rest of the family were killed. The father accepted his other abilities after he had been blind of disappointment toward his son. He improved his son’s abilities and taught him a lot of things.
His mother because she cared for him, and she saved his life, just as his father did. He doesn’t remember much about her, because she died when he was so young. But he will never forget her, nor will he ever forget his three sisters, who also died when the wolves attacked.
